Message: If the '98 has the rounded faceplate, then yeah, you should be able to get one. Mopar sells the adapter you need, it's for installing the RB1 navigation radio into a '99-01 Grand Cherokee or LH.
One caveat is that I don't remember if the '98 Dakota uses CCD bus or J1850. If it's CCD, the radio would still work but you won't have functioning steering wheel controls.
