Subject: Technical problem with my sound...
IP: Logged

Message:
Hey guys...hoping somebody can help me out with this. I got the thunderform and it sounds great. Only problem is that when I'm at idle RPM for a bit, the subs will start "cutting out" while the rest of the speakers keep playing. This never happens at higher RPM, so it's obviously that the subs/amp aren't getting enough power at idle alternator RPM. I thought the 117amp alternator would be plenty to power whatever I needed, but I guess not. Any tips or tricks to prevent this problem? Do I have to get a sound system battery?
Thanks in advance.

It's not your charging system or battery, they both are powering hundreds of thunderforms across america. You probably have: 1) a loose remote turn on wire,or insufficient current going to that wire. Try hooking up a solid 12V current to the amp turn on from your battery.

2) Your power/ground wire may have a bad connection. Check those.

3) Try swapping RCA inputs and see if the problem is there.

4) The amp may have some fault or you could have burnout your voice coils on the subs or at least damaged them.

The amp is not getting enough current at idle, or your subs are not getting a good connection. If the battery can start your truck it can power that sub system. Check your wires.
