Message: Just finished installing a square Kicker 8" S8L7. This thing is really loud. I turned it down cuz it got so annoying. The bass is so good tho, it is easily comparable to a 12".
It's possible to fit the S8L7, but the box is going to have to be small.
2.75"X15" at top
6.75"X15" at bottom
14.5"X15" on the back panel
Then I built the sides and front panels after I had constructed those together. I then loaded it up with wood glue to seal all leaks, and put some foam that i had in the corners.
The S8L7 is awesome. My friend has two Kicker 12's (the cheaper COMP ones or whatever), and my one 8" performs much better, no joke.
The S8L7 can be wired to 2 ohms, and it's RMS rating is 450. It's LOUD, trust me.
Hope this helps. Just ask if u have any questions. It was a fun project, and the final product is AWESOME. I love watching people's faces wondering "How the heck did he get that bass in there?"

Message: Practically any 6.5 or 6.75 speaker should drop into the stock locations in the doors. Since Dodge decided to use 3 hole speakers instead of 4, you may want to buy adapter rings that can be used between the speaker and the door. Otherwise, you can make your own, or drill 4 new holes into the existing speaker ring on the door
If you want components, it's still pretty easy. If you have the Infinity option, the front doors already have the tweeter mounting holes. If not, the door is already marked with the spot to take a hole saw to.

Message: haha, sorry, im just so excited after finishing my subwoofer installation.
I bought the Pioneer 4 ways. They are pretty clear, and very loud. My friend is giving me his Alpine Type S too. Its gonna sound sooo good.
The easiest way to install new aftermarket speakers is to drill holes in the plastic adapter ring. Another way is to trace and cut a flat panel of wood to create a better connection between the door, and speaker.
Id just go to your local Best Buy, Circuit City, or any car audio retailer, and wirte the model # down and search for it on Yahoo shopping. Best Buy wouldve charged $820 for the stuff I got for $380 at etronics.com.
hope something helps.

Message: Just so everyone can also know, this is my email to Wakely......
I used the Sony Digital Class D amp with 1600 watts (900 RMS in 2 ohms). Its stable to two ohms, so hooking the dual voice coil S8L7 was perfect. (make sure you get the 4 ohm one, not 2 ohm S8L7).
The model number is XM-DS1600P5. Just type that into yahoo products. I highly recommend Hookedontronics.com, they were fast and gave me exactly what i wanted.
I placed the amp behind the rear passenger seat, and it's a tight fit from left to right also, so a little planning is going to be needed. I also took the rear carpet panel all the way off and threw a piece of unused MDF back there, which was as big as the amp. I then forced the carpet back on and screwed the amp to it, (3 times, because i didn't have the location right).
You can always use another amp if you find one, but this one works perfectly. Also, you can get them offline for $160 (Best Buy was $399, i saw it).
I used 1/2" MDF. I looked at the 3/4" and thought about how much room i would be losing, and decided to use the 1/2", and build a strong box. I'm glad I went with 1/2", because the magnet almost touches the back of the box, and with 3/4", it would of. I glued the crap outta the crevices in all the wood. Then, I cut a small hole in the side of the box, fed enough wire through it, and then glued the wires in airtight.
I then cut the square hole for the S8L7 only 2/3" from the bottom.
The next thing to encounter is the seat. Only slight modification is need, but it IS needed to perform well. Open the back bottom of the seat, and cut out foam until it is even with the big metal bar. I've sat on it, and there is no difference in comfort. When everything is installed back, keep the the two plastic bars unclipped, and push them underneath the lip of the S8L7.
You must also glue a piece of wood, right above the S8L7, to push the seat forward, on top, to keep the S8L7 from bumping the seat. In the end, there will be a small hole between the seat, and you can see the S8L7, but 1) who cares 2) you can easily move the clip back to normal, and it is completely unnoticeable.
It seems stupid, but don't forget to scrape all the black paint off the bolt you are going to connect the ground wire to. I did.......haha.
I'm really tired, and I've probly left something out, but i wanted to help. If you have any questions, just ask. I'm gonna be taking pictures soon, so if u need them, just ask.
Peace,
Alec
