 Subject: where to mount tweeters

hey guys, i bout me a set of tweeters the other day and don't know where would be the best place to mount them, right now i just have them on my dash. but they look kinda trashy there and was wondering where is a better place for them. thanks

What year is the Dakota? I have mine (02 QC) mounted in the door's sail panels, where the stockers would mount, had I bought the factory Infinity system. I also mounted a second set in the rear doors in the area above, and in front of, the door handle.
I would have liked to mount the fronts in the dash, reflecting off the windshield, but couldn't figure a clean way of doing it.
I have also heard of others mounting 'em in the roof corners, and also in the A-pillars.

i have a 98 cc, i had them glued to the windsheild and they stayed for a while but the changes in warm and cool air made them fall off so i have them stuck on my dash for right now and if this don't work out there are going where the stock ones are at.

u want them up higher then ur other speakers.. usually on the door pillar works good..

In my 00 CC, I mounted mine high on the A pillars pointing to the opposite side, drivers tweeter points to the passanger, passangers tweeter points to the driver. I tried several locations using 2 sided tape and this worked best for SQ and cosmetics. In the back I mounted the tweets high in the rear panels pointing the tweets to the center of the truck.
The sail panels were my first choice, but my 00 had the mirror controls mounted in the drivers sail panel :(

I mounted some tweeters in my Dakota a few years back. The factory mounts the tweets in the front doors right next to the air vents. If you take off the plastic door panel, there should be an outline on the inside where the stock tweeters would go.
If you drill that out with a hole saw, it makes for a nice clean install.

i put mine directly to the left of the drivers ear and the same on the opposite side, i have to fade it to the front because it is so loud!

i got mine mounted in the back right next to the rear passengers ears. i plan on putting some near where the seat belt thingy moves up and down. so me and the passenger can REALLY hear the highs. a friend of mine mounted his in his AC vents (every Vent) so when u would listen to music you could hear the highs but u didn't know where they were mounted.

I have a 2000 Club Cab and mounted two sets of component speakers. The first set I mounted where the old infinity tweeters in the front door panels were. The second set I mounted in the upper rear corners of the cab using the angled mounts. It sounds phenomenal. I have Boston Acoustic Rally components.........can't ask for better sound. The truck is great because not much sound escapes it. Good luck.
