 Subject: quad cab seats

I am gonna be buying a 97 dakota quad cab and was thinking about whats under the rear seats, i know there is like a box type thing under them. and i was wondering whats under that box thing, i want to put subs under the seats. i odnt hav ethe truck yet to look, so can anyone give me a hand on this subject

in the pictues ive found they are about 6 maybe 7 inches off the floor.

They're not. There's maybe an inch or two you could jam somethng under there. Thats being optimstic, though.

That "thing" is the floor of cab. Cut through it and you are looking at the street :-)
Under the back seats is not an option unless you plan on cutting the floor out and doing some fabricating. The only place to hide the subs is behind the rear seats, or replace the console.

as i said, the seats sit on the floor. i have an '00 QC. for subs, i've read on here about the following options:
make a custom console and install subs
8" in the rear doors.
behind the rear seats.
use the search function on here.
some of these guys are real creative.
most of all good luck and have fun with it.

where did you find seats for the back, i like that idea of putting a center consol in the back. because i would rather not have to fabricate something under the seats. then i wouldnt have to lift the truck to make extra clearance.

called around some junk yards and found a wrecked 2002 dakota that had been sitting there fer 4 days, it was a cloth seat but i had it covered to match my other seats. it's like 1,200+ for a brand new leather seat.i paied 200

i cut off the old bolts and relocated em. the back dosent slide back and forth only front, and the front slides back an forth fine. not much sitting difference DO NOT use the subs for a arm rest (Duh) and your feet room are fine i drive around with people in the back all the time. i put the jack behind the rear seats (don't have the back part of the seat hooked up). i have the crossover under one seat and circit breaker under the other seat.
