 Subject: 6x9s in the front??? will they fit

i have an 04 CC dakota and the sound sucks. i have a good set of pioneer 6x9s and was wondering if i could put them in the front doors of my dakota. i think the stock size is 6 1/2 but will these 6x9s fit?

I used 6x9's in the front of my 2001 dakota. I faced the speaker towards the door and drilled the holes where i wanted it to go. Then I slide the 6x9 in the door and used bolts to mount it. Works perfect.

No you didnt understand what I was saying. I faced the 6x9 towards the outside of the truck and put it in the place that I wanted it to mount. I held it in place and used it as a templete so I would know where to drill the holes. Then I carefully slid the 6x9, facing inside the truck, in the door and matched it up to the holes. I used small bolts to keep the 6x9 in place. Of course with the OEM hole cut out for 6.5 in speakers, it doesnt allow all of the surface of the 6x9 to be seen.
