I've seen the literature on the Infinity/Mopar REC unit I expect these are $2,000 + installation.
Does anyone have experience with this unit or a comparable aftermarket unit?
Both parts managers I talked with at 2 different 5 Star dealerswere either:
A)Clueless about high end audio
B)Indifferent about high end audio
C)Clueless about customer service.

Thanks!

You can't use an REC unless you have a 300, Magnum, or 2004+ Durango.

BTW the REC is made by Alpine. Infinity has nothing to do with it.

Okay, so any recommendations on an eqivalent after market brand?
I swear the marketing literature for the REC doesn't address "only for xxx vehicles"...

Damn, i was wanting to integrate one of these in my 98 Durango...I figured if you spliced some wires, integrated a couple wire harnesses...you could prolly use all features minus navigation maybe. But if you cant find youre own way you prolly shouldnt be driving anyway!

Here's the thing: #1, REC is HUGE. It's almost twice the height of the typical Chrysler radio. #2, it uses a totally different data bus (CAN-Bus) which is not compatible at all with CCD or J1850. Plus, REC doesn't even have an ignition-on wire; it powers up via a bus message from the CAN FCM in supported vehicles. So even if you did manage to install one and wire it up, you wouldn't be able to turn it on.
