Subject: sub distortion IP: Logged
Message: well i have 4 15" and after i had a shop take them out and redo the box they started sounding distorted when i turn them up very loud.I took them out and found about 5 or 10 screw holes in the different boxes where they tried to keep the full wall from sliding and then i guess they didne find a good spot so they was taken out living the small holes in there.Would this be causeing the distortion? 1 more thing, the 15's are wanting to hit the higher bass like 10's do,but it may just be the sealed boxes. The subs are kicker cvr's with a memphis 1500d amp running with they said 2 ohm but where there was 4 pos. and 4 neg. wires there are now 2 of each, they say the others are spliced inside the box,but theres no way of me knowing.

Message: Well, if they left screw holes in the enclosure and didn't seal them, then yes, you'll get noises from the air leaks. Usually it causes a buzzing sound.
