Subject: Subwoofer Help...PLEASE IP: Logged
Message: OK....I had 2 10" MTX 6000 subs in a thunderform box in the back of my 97. Untill someone stole them a couple of days ago. Now its time to hit up the insurance company. My amp i am still running is:
MTX 4202.
Measured @ 12.5V DC:
50 watts x 2 into a 4 Ohm load w/ less than 1% THD
100 watts x 2 into a 2 Ohm load with less than 1% THD
200 watts bridged into a 4 Ohm load with less than 1% THD
Dynamic power measured at 14.4 volts DC:
85 watts x 2 into a 4 Ohm load
140 watts x 2 into a 2 Ohm load
280 watts bridged into a 4 Ohm load
Signal to noise ratio: 100dB A-weighted
Damping factor: >200
Frequency response: 20-20000 Hz
Size w/ mounting feet: 9.3" x 9.75" x 2.1"
So now i need to find a sub that will sound the best with that amp. I dont know what to do? Im looking at the MTX Thunder 4500. Is that comparible to the MTX 6000? I know the mounting depth is a problem and i dont want to get a speaker that requires more power than my amp can put out...and i dont know much about speakers and amps....so could someone please try to hook me up pretty good...money isnt really an option. Thanks for the help.
