 Subject: Which Infinity sub with this amp?

Ok, I have bought a SoundStorm D650.2. I believe it is around 230 watts x 2 @ 4ohm load. I dont know if I need the Infinity Kappa Perfect 12.1 Single Voice Coil, or the Infinity Kappa Perfect 12.1D Dual Voice Coil?
I was planning on running at 4 ohms, but 2 ohms would be fine, it really doesnt matter. Also, how do I wire it up, since I have one sub and a two channel amp?

If your amp is 230 per channel you deffinitly don't need kappa perfects the RMS on those is 600, i have 2 12" dual voice and they are way TOO loud, 1 kappa perfect is good, but anyway I would just get 2 regular 12" kappas or even 10". The amp isn't nearly powerful enough to power a kappa perfect.

opps i just realized i made a type the RMS on kappa perfects is 400, but that amp still isn't powerful enough

That is 230 rms into both channels at 4 ohms. Can you not bridge it or do what ever and put around 460 watts into it?

You could bridge the amp and have each sub running at 2 ohms, that would put each sub around 350, i'm just guessing, but check the rms of ur amp bridged or the rms of each channel at 2 ohms

which 'kappa perfect' are you talking about...there are several different models ranging from 200 to $500....

O you only want one sub, ok thats perfect, i work at circuit city and i deal w/ this all the time. I reccoment you buy one kappa perfect but get the 12" DVC (dual voice coil). That would sound GREAT! The installers would know exactly how to wire it.

Ok, thanx high ROLLA, that sounds like it would be a good sub. But I still do not know how to wire up the DVC to a 2 channel amp.
