Message: Hello everyone, I know that car subwoofer can be aimed both upward or downward. Which is better? What are the advantages of firing a subwoofer toward the ground and upright. If i do fire the sub downward how much room does it need from the floor to the sub. Thank you ver much

Message: Generally neither is better. Bass is omnidirectional (sound waves travel in all directions,) so the direction the woofer is point is not important.
Some woofers can benefit from the loading effect of down-firing, but it's hard to predict. Plus, if you don't allow enough space between the woofer and the floor you can get distortion.
