 Subject: Wiring Harness?

If I have a panasonic cd player installed, will the wiring harness fit any brand cd player (Sony, Kenwood,etc)? Is the wiring harness specific to each brand or the car? I just bought an 01 dak qc and want to take the cd player out of my other car. I want to keep the wiring harness in my old car and hook up a cheap cd player.

All of the harnesses that I have seen are based on the car, not the HU.
