Subject: Question about bridging two Amps IP: Logged
Message: I have a 200 watt amp with pass thru RCA plugs. I tried bridging it to a 600 watt amp, but the 600 watt amp won't power up. Do I need to hook the 600 watt amp to the battery as well? Will I also have to run another REM wire? An help would be greatly appreciated.

Message: please explain exactly how you have these hooked up. I'm not sure what you mean by "Bridging" here.

Message: I have the battery hooked up to a 200 watt amp. I also have the REM, ground, and head unit hooked up to the same 200 watt amp. Along w/ the RCAs that hook up w/ the CD player there is another set of RCA plugs labeled "Pass-Thru". I hooked another set of RCA plugs into the Pass Thru and connected it with a 600 watt amp. Somebody told me that that was all I had to do but the 600 watt amp won't power up.

Message: Ah, I see. Both amps need their own battery, ground, and remote lines. The "pass-through" RCA jacks simply feed the audio signal to another amplifier.
