Subject: PLEASE HELP!!! IP: Logged
Message: Hey guys I need some help. I'm in the middle of installing some infinity reference components in my 99 dak R/T RC which already has the factory infiniti system. I had the head unit replaced and the shop bypassed the stock amp. I plan on getting an amp when the funds come handy but I got the speakers for free so I thought I would go ahead and install them. My question is when I removed the stock woofer in the door there is a black frame that holds it in place. Now the speakers he gave me came with an adapter bracket from crutchfield. Now do I need to remove the old bracket or does that get used with the new bracket over top of it? The new bracket doesn't seem to fit in old one but when I try to use just the new bracket the mounting screws that hold the woofer to the bracket hit the metal door frame. Do I need to drill holes to accomadate the screws or am I just an idiot. This is the first time I've installed components like this. I would appreciate any help you guys could offer. Also I've already installed the tweeters and noticed there are two sets of wires one for the tweeter and one for the woofer. Can I not use the crossover and use the factory wires until i get an amp? Sorry for the long post. Thanks for the help!

Message: I don't understand the whole bracket thing your trying to describe... and instead just point you to my web site that has pictures of how I made my own custom bracket to get the Infinity aftermarket speakers to fit in my '02 Dak.
As for the wires, you MUST use the supplied crossover, if not you'll blow the tweeter.

Message: first off what are the model #'s on the audioblah subs? Second since its a small trunk, your best bet sounds like a sealed enclosure due to the fact that generally they need less volume. Another thing you might want to think about is what the subs ask for and what the amp really puts out. Amps are like women, they lead you on to believe they'll put out a bunch, but then they just tease you. (sorry I had to) Second thing to think about is the impedence on your susb and there compatibility with that amp, im assuming your amp is a 2 channel or mono amp? Find out the impedence on the subs, what the impendence tha amp will see from the subs, and what the amp can handle as far as impedence. Make sense? If not list the specs of each product and ill give you a hand.

Message: You dont NEED a new amp, but if you would like to get the most out of your subs then yes. If you would like to shoot a price you would like to pay I would by all means help you find your best bang for your buck. Just so you know your looking at getting an amp that can push a good deal of power. With power comes a pricetag.

Message: Depending on what you want to pay you can go with a boss c-700

There are a lot more amps out there that you could get, it really just depends on what you want from the subs and what you want to pay.
