Subject: Under $300 for a system...possible??? IP: Logged
Message: A buddy of mine has a 2001 SLT Reg.Cab with a stock cd/radio non-infinity.
He would like to increase clarity and volume.
I reccommended Infinity refence 6.5" coax up front, Infinity reference 5.25" coax in the rear, and a Kicker 100W 4 channel amp. leaving the stock head unit.
How would this sound?
Would it be better to replace the headunit instead of getting the amp?
He would like to stay below $300 installed, any ideas to get the most bang for the buck?

Message: Well, I would actually do something a little different. I would buy a Pioneer head, something around the DEH-P3600 or if he wants mp3 playback, the deh-p5500mp.
For speakers I would get the Pioneer TS-A1780R 3-WAY Speaker for the fronts and Pioneer TS-G1340R for the rears. These would be powered off of the deck since the deck is at 50 watts/channel.
Then I would geta Pioneer 3000T amp. It's a 2 channel, 200w, bridgeable amp. So bridge the two channels and throw on a Pioneer TS-W250R 10" Sub in a small box behind the seat.
The deck and speakers are cheaper than anyplace else at etronics.com and the amp and subs are cheapest at millionbuy.com
$121 Deck
$60 Front speakers
$40 Real speakers
$80 Amp
$40 Sub
$340 Total
340 dollars for the whole system. All of that will sound AWESOME. Plus it is all Pioneer, which IMO is the best. Although he will have to buy a couple of things to get everything hooked up properly: Adapter for the head unit - $9, Amp wiring kit - $12 dollars, wood and carpet for the sub box - $20. All of this can be found at Wal-mart (except the wood). Another alternative to making the sub box is a wal-mart pre-made box. They are cheap and sound good.

Message: Why would I want to do that when your sister does that pretty good just before I blow it all over her face.
YOU know she's freaky like that--- she told me you taught her that trick.
