Subject: Install Work IP: Logged
Message: I have made a box for the club cab third gen dakota that slams. Enough room for one XXX or brahma, more than enough for most ears. If anyone is interested, let me know. Also, if anyone in the South is looking for a high quality install and custom work, drop me a line or call.

Message: if there was someone that could make a box for behind the pass seat of a rc gen 3 dakota, it would sell good IMHO..... especially if the box could hold a 12!!!!

Message: I really think I could, but I would need the truck for a little while since I have a CC. But I know I could do it some way, although you might be limited in your woofer choice to something with a low mounting depth.

Message: yeah thats what i thought, a low mounting depth.... the only real hinderance to a box, is the hump in the floor for the factory jack... (behind pass. seat)
right now I have a solobaric s10L7 in a small kicker sealed truck box. it puts out ok, but I am always looking for MORE lol!!! if only there was a way to fit an 18 in my truck :-)

Message: I just got one word for ya: FIBERGLASS!! It's how I fit so much airspace in my box, while still keeping the back seat functional. There are quite a few good 12" drivers out there with a low mounting depth, just takes a little detective work.

Message: My bro is an awesome carpenter and he just helped me fab a box for two 10" for my regular cab '03. I don't think 12' would work without moving the seat up a ton... but it could be done... my seat is up about two clicks as is and the box for the 10's fits perfectly. Plus I never thought about 12's I figured two good 10's with a good amp and I bet I can pound with any set of 12s. Not trying to start a debate just saying in a reg cab, you are already sitting on top of the subs as is and I have seen 10s (and 8s) perform awesome in regular cab trucks provided you choose your components, don't take shortcuts or cheapen things out, and build a solid box.
just my .02
PS hope to have pics of the install up and box measurements for anyone interested soon
