Subject: Base model radio upgrade--what first? IP: Logged
Message: So a new '04 Quad cab SLT 4x4 sits in the drive, with the crappy-est radio known to man. When I bought the truck I figured I would upgrade the sound anyway, so I got the base model, single CD, non-infinity speaker setup. Now that payments are comming due, I would still like to upgrade, but would prefer the biggest improvement for the smallest investment (naturally).
Do you think I should upgrade speakers first, headunit first, or just wait and do it all at once??
Any specifics would be welcome.
Crutchfield is great, but a little overwhelming with the number of options available.
Thanks,
JC

Message: here's my opinion, if it really matters.
keep the head unit, get a 4-way amp, components for the frt(6.5-6.75") and 2 or 3-ways (6.5-6.75") for the rear.
get the speaker adapters from crutchfield for the wiring and speaker installs, a BIG help.
contact PACaudio.com for a rca output to install n the back of the stock head unit.
2002 QC 4x4 Sport Plus, 4.7L, auto, Patriot Blue, Tire & Handling group, Heavy Duty Service group, Leer cap w/out windows, Mopar Step bars and roof rack, Rhino liner in bed and on step bars, Pace Edwards Power Tailgate lock 3.55 rear, 4-wheel anti-lock brakes, all possible fluids are AMSOIL
