 Subject: this a good amp for brahmas?

i'm going to pick up 2 12" brahmas, i was looking at the PG Tantrum 1200.1 to power them both. (wired to a 2ohm load)
whats the correct output of this amp? i have seen sites that say its 1200x1 @2ohm, and others say its 1400x1 @2ohm.

how much power do you need?
i would recommend the hifonics BX1500D. it is rated at 1500rms x1 @ 1 ohm.. 1000rms x1 @ 2 ohms..., deffinatley get that if you can wire your subs down to 1 ohm.
best bang for your buck
it will run about 350 or so $

well i wish i could get a 1ohm load with 2 brahmas :)
i was originally going to get 2 BX1000D's for each sub(wired to 1ohm)
people have told me that the brahmas could not handle that much power for 1-2hours of use. even though its rated at 1600rms.
anyways, i think that 1000watts to each sub is way too much for my civic. i was looking something that will give each sub around 650-800

you could get 2 bx1000ds. wire each sub up to its own amp. the bx100d (which i have, im runnin 1000x1 @ 1 on 2 solos) wires into 700rms x1 @ 2 ohms. i dunner if this helps.

650 to a brahma? you do want it to move right? id say get a jbl 1200.1 it is affordable and i knoe a kid using that on a 15 inch brahma and it works well. if u underpower like that u will have to turn the amp all the way up to get it kind of loud. cant u get dual 4 ohm brahmas parallel the vc and parallel the 2 subs together for 1 ohm load?

it also depends on the box. bigger the box, less watts you can give a sub.
i'm leaning more towards the PG tantrum 1200.1 to power both subs.

hey there lol, john over at p4s hit 142.7db with a single 12" brahma giving it 650watts. i think 700 will get it moving very nice.
