Message: Hi i just bought an MTX thunder 4200x online. What amp kit
gauge should i USE.

Message: i would go with 4 gauge. look on onlinecarstereo.com, they have a few nice kits. i bought the absolute 900 kit, and i was very pleased with it.

Message: If that is the only thing you plan to run off of it you can use an 8ga or 10ga kit no problem, preferably the 8ga kit. Nothing wrong with the 4ga suggestion but it is not necessary for an amp that small.
Check eBay, you can get some decent prices on amplifier kits, just beware of the junk..

Message: As justi said, an 8-10 guage should work fine. Keep in mind though if you plan to do more upgrades later. If you add more wattage, then that 8-10 will need to be replaced.
If you think you'll do more upgrades, a 4 guage may reduce some later rework...
