Subject: 00 Dakota Infinity Speaker Replacement

Message:
have a 2000 Dakota Club Cab with the Infinity speaker system in it and I have blown the front driver side speaker. I bought some Alpine components with 1 inch tweeters. Will those fit in the stock tweeter spaces? I am planning on doing the install my self and was wondering if I was going to run into any problems installing the speakers other than the usuall speaker not fitting factory brackets issue. I have installed many speakers in other vehicles but have never done tweeters and have never even pulled the door apart in my Dakota. Just looking to make sure I am not gonna run into any major issues with the installation.

If you are installing the Type R Components that is what I installed and it was fairly easy. I did have to make a bracket for the 6.5's but that wasn't hard. I found the the flush mounts for the Type R's look a lot better than the others but I guess it is just personal opinion.

I did install the Type R and they are great....for the woofers I just drilled holes in the door. The tweeters took a little enginuity but they look good.
