Subject: Sub Box Design IP: Logged
Message: I have a 97 Dak CC, in which I would like to install a set of Kicker Solo-Baric L7 subs. I don't have a certain size that I am set on, but would prefer a pair of tens or a pair of 12s. Hopefully someone here is more experienced with the design and building of sub boxes than I am. I have a couple of possible designs (in my head) and wondering what would end up working the best.
Option 1: Forward firing pair of 8s or 10s mounted under the rear seats. Should be the easiest box to build and install, however the idea of having the speakers sitting in the truck in a manner in which they could easily by obstructed by something in the cab is somewhat troubling.
Option 2: Same basic concept, only the subs firing down. Should allow for use of bigger subs, 10s or 12s.
Option 3: This will be somewhat more unique, I think, as I have never seen a similar design before. The subs would be angled in the box, allowing for a larger sub to go in the box with the same footprint as the rear seats. But would result in smaller air space for the subs, so may have to drop down to a single sub (I haven't taken any measurements yet to figure this)
Anyone familiar with any of these designs that can tell me if any one of the 3 would work better???
Thank you for your time
