Subject: XM vs Cirrus IP: Logged
Message: Anyone have these satelite radio systems? Which seems better? The XM is cheaper per month but the cirrus components are cheaper. I only care about which has the best music (pop,rock,techno,punk,metal,alt,80,90,blues...NO COUNTRY). thanks

Message: I have never heard XM but my CD player came with Sirius and it is pretty decent. But if you live in rural areas it will cut off sometimes. (at least it did for me)

Message: I worked in circuit city and i constantly heard both playing everyday for three months so i can tell u alot about both. I have heard XM gets better reception, and I know that it is easier to use then SIRIUS. however, they tend to repeat much too often for me. They have a good choice of stations, 90 something if i remember correctly, and they are reasonable. SIRIUS on the other hand repeats less often, however is slightly more complicated to flip through statons while you are driving in my opinion, and does cost more per month, and also if my memory serves correct, has less stations than XM. All included if i was going to purchase, I would go with XM. Hope I was able 2 help. Matt

Message: I know when they first came out Sirius had mostly commercial free stations..thats why it was more. XM had commercials. Also..Sirius has a better network of satellites..wont cut out under some overpasses and whatnot, like ive heard XM can. But ive not used either of them so do not know from experience. I just looked into them and found neither was worth the monthly fee for no more than they were offering.

Message: I have Siruis and love it.I went with it becuase they have three satelitles that orbit compared to XM two, which are stationary. Siruis is about a dollar more but has more channels and less commercials. Either way it goes once you have satellite you wont want regular radio again.
