Message: Mike,
There is no factory ducting per se, but you can push it through where the hood release cable runs through the firewall. Depending on the guage of your speaker wire, it can be a tight fit but it will fit.
I got the idea from JMII who posts regularly on the site. His website is a fantastic resource for ideas on your system. You can find it here:

Message: 8 gauge wire can fit through the factory grommet with a little work I don't know about anything bigger though...

Message: There is tons of room there to bring wires through and it already has a huge rubber grommet to run the wires through. If going through metal make sure to put in a grommet or wrap the wire well with electric tape where it passes through.

Message: On my 03 there is an unused hole with grommet already in it above the passenger side kick panel. It's about 3/4" to 1", so plenty of room. This location actually worked better for me as I was installing an amp under the passenger seat and it made for a shorter in cab run. It left you running the wire under the hood further but that's mostly out of site and out of mind, nothing a litle black loom can't take care of.. Just my $.02...

Message: I ran 4 AWG through the passenger side grommet also, it's dumb to "poke it through" an existing grommet, because if you ever have to pull the wire out, then your grommet will have a hole in it. The passenger side grommet isn't used at all and with a quarter, you could go buy another and just pop it in if you needed to remove the wire.

Message: i installed mine a couple weeks ago, i cut an "X" in the grommet used for the hood latch. 4 guage went through with ease. and in response to "if you ever pull the wire out, you'll have a hole in it", if i ever take that wire out, it'll be to put more wire back in, or sell the truck. and when i sell the truck, won't care about a grommet with a hole in it.

Message: A little bit of silicone sealant will seal the grommet up with the wire in it, or, if necessary, after you remove it.
