Subject: just another dumbass IP: Logged
Message: Doin a sub/dual amp/component system setup in my '03 CC and am still quite clueless about certain things...such as...
How do I go about wiring BOTH remote turn on leads to the amps??? Will I burn out my turn on lead in my Kenwood Excelon Receiver by tieing both together off of the one lead??? Supposedly I may need a relay, and that's where I am lost...need help PLEASE!!!

Nah. Each amp only draws a few milliamps from that lead, all it
does is signal the amps to turn on.

Message: Yeah youll be fine, no relays required. Just wire both leads to the remote lead on the head unit.

Message: I too dont know mcuh about car audio...I have a question about subs. I see alot of intalations of subs upside down....Does it help the sound or is it just for looks?????

Message: bass will go anywhere, which is why it does not need to be in the best location like other speakers. they install them upside down because it fit better that way, or it is out of the way more, or it is better protected...etc. it will not affect the sound in any way.

Message: Thanks for the replies fellas, the advice was of much help. I got it all together, sounding great and have the peace of mind that I will not blow the turn on lead of my XCELON deck. Much love to the bumpin Daks out there....peace!
