Subject: Will it fit?

Message:
I'm looking to put a double din multimedia system in a 2000 Durango, but my measurements say that the factory hole is like 1/2" too short. Does anyone know if it'll fit, or how I can make it fit?

Thanks!
Joan

Joan,

I am 99.99% positive it will not fit. The Dodge is a din and a half set up, your radio as stated is a double din. Short of getting really creative and hacking away at the excess material, it's not going to fit.

I'd say for the time and energy you have to put in to making it fit, it would make much more sense to go out and get something that would.

It's just that a double din system is like 1/3 the cost of an all in one unit. Oh well! That just means I'll have to be a little more creative. Thanks for your help!

just buy a dvd player and tvs and put it under your back seat or make a small enclosure and leave your factory HU and put the double DIN in your center console like alot of people have.

if you really wanted to get creative like ive done in the past, put the double din in the center console then detatch the face and souter the wires from the unit to the face and mount the face on your visor. that way u can control your cd player and dvd player in reach but the actual unit in a place that doesnt take up much moving space.
