Subject: fuse box IP: Logged
Message: ok, for some reason my deck power wire (pink) is somehow wired with the dome light (3 amp fuse) I was hooking up subs and stuff and it blew and then I lost all power to the deck. I really doubt this is normal.....so I was wondering whats the best way to get it wired to the radio fuse in the fuse box? (if thats what I should do)

Message: the radio has two fused power wires leading to it. One is the
"Battery/memory" lead which is on the same circuit as the dome
light, and the other is the key-on/ACC power which is on the
fuse labeled "radio".
I'd check your manual, though. I'd expect to see more than a 3
amp fuse on that circuit. Are you using the stock radio?

Message: No, I'm using a Alpine cda-9827 at the moment powering the stock speakers. and I have a Alpine amp powering two 12" subs. So you think I could put a bigger fuse in the dome light spot without melting wires or starting fires? :)

Message: Actually I think I'll just run a wire to the truck battery.. I have a wire with a 10 amp fuse, so that should work well.
Thanks for your help

Message: I was swapping out the stock radio and replacing the lighter and when I tested the lighter I blew a 25 amp fuse and lost my dome light. I replaced the fuse and no longer have a constant or a dome light or power for the lighter. I have looked at the Haynes Repair manual but I don't have a label for my fuse panel or an owners manual for the truck. BTW it's a 93 Dakota Sport 2WD Auto. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated.
