 Subject: help with wiring diagram

I'm hooking up a car stereo into a 89' dodge dakota sport 4x4. The diagram I have from www.installdr.com is a little different then my truck. the wires are not set in the pins the way the diagram says.....the same colors just in different places in the pins of the black plug.
Should I just go by the colors or by the pin order?

I'd go by pin order. Those (to my knowledge) hadn't changed much if at all.

Get more info from somebody or somewhere else !
Colors are more important ...
Or use a voltohmmeter to check for voltages
and speaker connections
speaker lines are like green and green/black
gray and gray/black

You shoud get your info somewhere else. That's only
true for aftermarket harnesses. The automakers can and do use
whatever the hell wire colors they feel like.
