Subject: How much dose best buy charge? IP: Logged
Message: I got my deck and 2 pairs of speakers from best buy, and i am also most likly getting my box and amp. I ordered my subs online. It costed my brother 45$ for them to install just the cd deck. I know there are a few people hear that work or have worked there. Any clue on what its going to run?

Message: I would say about $200 for all of it, plus the cost of the outrageous amp install kit ($50) and all the other BS charges (shop fee, factory cd mount, etc).
Its a waste of money, do it yourself. Or if your near STL ill do it for a bottle of Jack. lol.

Message: If you got the subs online why don't you get the rest of the stuff online? The amp and box online are probably going to cost 1/2 of what Best Buy charges. Use the extra money and buy an amp for the mid/tweet speakers. If your going to be pushing 700W to the subs your going to need an amp for the mids and highs or all you will hear is bass.
The down side to getting them online is the shipping time, the lack of being able to purchase an extended warranty and having to install it yourself. The up side is, you will probably get it at 1/2 of what you would have spent at Best Buy since your not going to be buying an extended warranty, waste of money if you buy good equipment.
Seriously, I spent around $650 online for a Pioneer DEH-P77DH deck, P680 CD changer, 301S RF sub amp, Orion 465 4ch amp, and 2 pr of Infinity Reference 605CS component speakers. Add another $100 for misc wiring, sub box building supplies and the 2 RF subs I had and the complete system cost $750 (minus the subs). If I had bought all this stuff at Best Buy, purchased the extended warranties and had them install everything it would have been somewhere between $1500 and $2000.
If you decide to get the equipment online read all the installation directions realy well so you don't hook it up bass ackwards. Oh, another thing, Wal-mart has good, not great, but good, amp wiring kits. Best bang for the buck. They are about 1/3 of what BestBuy charges

Message: Ya, i was thinking of getting it all online because its cheap, But i don't really have alot of time to get the system installed. See this if my first car, and i need to get it on the road as soon as possable. If i get my box online and the amp, i just want to know what i looking at what it will cost to get put in, i think 200$ sounds like alittle to much.

Message: At best buy to install everything you listed above it will likely be MORE than $200. You're talking about 2 power wires to the amp, grounding, speaker wires, preamp wires, installing the deck, a PER SUB install charge.. It is actually insane. I'm with the dude from St Louis, if you live near Ralaigh, NC I work for a case of beer or two. :)

Thank for posting guys.. how many hours dose it take them to install the stuff? Like around 3-4?

Message: Install time varies, I could "hack" a stereo in in a couple of hours, but to do a nice clean job it takes time. My Dak stereo took a looooong weekend, but I made some realy complicated fibreglass boxes and did a real nice job running the wiring.
$200 is sounds about right if it takes 3-4 hours to install the stuff. Hey, don't forget about all the overpriced wiring and special connectors that they are going to soak you for. $60 amp kit, $20 stereo adapter, $20 RCA cable!!!
