Subject: Rockford Fosgate sub? IP: Logged
Message: well, i just got a dak sport reg cab and i wanna install a system. i have an old rockford 12" power dvc and of course it will not fit. but i was wondering if any has used the 8"dvc (model#2208) and if an 8 would sound better in a vented or enclosed box. as i have never purchased and installed somthin this small and i wana try to get the deeper low bass to shine. any thoughts on differ subs or box builds would be appriciated.
p.s. anyone know how a 12" would sound in a hard bed cover?

Message: im not sure what exact model 8" ur talking bout, but i myself have a rockford fosgate he2 8" dual 2-ohm voice coil subwoofer installed in a q-logic 8" truck box, with a rockford fosgate 201s amp installed behind my seat ina 94 reg. cab- it sounds very good for a 8. depending on how much room u have behind u and how much ur willing to scoot up ur seat, u could prolly fit a 10" behind u though, though i opted not to.

Message: yea i was told by an audio store that i could have two 10" w0's without even movin my seat up but that just seems to be BS. i have a 401s rockford amp and these 8's are supposed to hold 400rms and 800peak so i should have bout the right amount. i am gonna desing a custom box with some plexglass and see how that sounds.
i think im gonna keep it ventless and try to have the subs inverted but still fire towards the front. any how thanx for the input and if anyone has subs in the bed with a hard cover please let me know how much rattling it does if any.
