Subject: Speaker location in Ext. Cab IP: Logged
Message: I am gutting the factory infinity system in my 98 Ext cab. I plan to use a Alpine head unit with Infinity Reference 6000CS compontent speakers powered by a modest Alpine amp. I plan to mount the tweeters in the factory location in the door panels so here is my question. Where is the best place for the 6.5's. I can put them in the lower door panel or behind the seats in the side panels which is closer to ear level. Interior is out so that is not a problem. Will mounting the speakers in the rear mess up the "soundstage"? It seems to me that putting them in the doors (almost on the floor) would be worse! What do you think? Thanks in advance for any info.

Message: well the best thing to do would be to buy 2 sets of speakers....1 set for the doors and 1 set for the back of the truck...by the way, if you have the extra money, go with the Kappa series...they are worth it
