i am thinking about upgrading my pioneer 6 3/4 door speakers with memphis speakers. are they really worth the money? and will my head unit have enough power for them (pioneer deh-p44 50 watts/channel)

they are good speakers but it depends on wat you r going to pay for them

ya.. they would be a good upgrade as long as you dont spend to much on them..
spend another 100 bills or so and get a nice amp to power them and they will sound alot clearer cause the deck is only going to give them around 20 watts or so rms, give or a take a few

I have the Memphis power reference 6 1/2" door speakers. They sound great. I have them running with my sony xplode 52wx4 head unit. I ran them for a while without a sub and was impressed. They are not the top of the line speaker (the m-class is top of the line) but they sound better than any other mids running off only the head unit I have heard. I recently put a 10" depth charge, ran by a memphis 300w power reference amp, and it sounds great, and the mids still sound very clear. Memphis is definitely the way to go.

sounds good, i only use the door speakers for mids and highs and all the bass is sent to my sub (solo baric L7 10) powered by an mtx 6500d amp.
my head unit can split the signals to the sub and door speakers. i love it!

I have 2 3/4 front speakers memphis, with 2 12's sub and 1,000 watt amp and it sounds bomb!!
