I own a 98 dakota 4x4 that I took a MTX tunderform out of my old explorer and put into my dakota. I bought the MTX thunderform box and a Rockford Fosgate 10' sub and puit all that in there. Then I took a kenwood 200 watt sub amp and bridged it to both subs. For such a low power amp, I have not found many trucks that have as good or better sound quality and power than mine. I can't wait till I upgrade amps to 600 watts. This is my second Thunderform box. I deffinately reccomend this box, but you will pay a pretty penny for it though.

Sorry to say, but ALL Dakotas are built in Michigan. Sounds like you were given the run around on that one. I would double check the installation of the box to make sure it was installed properly. I've had mine in two different trucks. One '99 and one '00 and it fit fine in both of them.

As far as the sound. I have two IDQ DVC subs in my T-Form, not the MTX subs. I am using a MTX RT2400X amp rated at 600W bridged(not sure of RMS). It sounds awsome, and I have people all the time that are amazed two 10" subs can put out that much sound. I have zero rattles on my truck as well.

There not a pretty penny if you find the right place to buy them. I bought my Thunderform from www.MaximumThump.com. It was cheap and it got here quick.
I've read about them, and it's all good.
