Well I find alpine too be a good midrange choice of sub for many people. The hifonics amp is one GREAT amp, but I would watch how you wire the load. The hifonics amps ARE satable down to 1 ohm, but I would make SURE not to go below that. The amps is too nice to burn up on some mid-range subs.

Although my ears don't hear any problem with the alpines for their price, many say that they are not clear and are prone to burnout. I have NOT noticed this, but it is something I think that you should be aware of.

Also I know for a fact that the alpines sound better in an ENCLOSED (ie NON ported) box. Of course you will need to ave some fiberfill inside, but they sound MUCH better in a closed box than open.

Just my 2 cents.

Always Thankfull,
Ben J.

Yeah it would definatly be an enclosed box. The alpines are more of an SQ sub so how are they not clear. What cases did the coils burn. This would be all installed at a authorized JL dealer and they know their stuff. I previsouly was there thinking about a 10w7 with a 500/1 but the cost is too much for me. I figure I can get the same output if not more with a better looking enclosure for half the price. Even though the price they gave me was amazing.
Thanx for all the info.

I have never made a box or installed anything myself. I have a firend that could help me install it but not make the box. I would want it as professional as possible.

Like I poster earlier,

I HAVE NOT noticed any problems with alpine subs. I like them.

But I have HEARD that they are prone to burn out and are not very clear.

Of all the alpine subs I have heard, they all sound very good for the price. I just wanted you to be aware of what I have HEARD. I like alpine, I would buy some if I did not like inffinity so much.

One thing I do have to say though is, I think that their head units are VERY overreated. They do not seem to put out very clean sound. Don't get me wrong, it is WAY better than the stock system.
But I still think for that kind of money 375+ you shoud get a better sound. also I think they are ugly as hell (but that is a personal opinion and has nothing to do with anything).

Yeah I am all about Pioneer units. I have a deh-7500 pushing in the front Ample audio components and Ample coaxels in the back. I dont know why but sometimes the back speaker pops. They are rated at 75rms and the most I get out of the cd player is 50. Reasons for this could could be? It was all professionally installed so there shouldnt be any problems.
All help is appreciated.
