Message: Hello I have a speaker question. If i have a speaker rated at 130 RMS which would be a better amp to us
Hifonics zx4000 100 watts per channel
or
Is it possible to us a Zx6000 150 watts per channel and turn down the gain?
would the 150 blow the speakers. I'm planning to get the CDT audio EF series.
Thank you very much

Message: 75 watts to your full-range speakers is more than sufficient to make your ears bleed. Stick with the 100 watt amp and make sure you don't clip it.

Message: IMO I'd go with the higher output amp.
Your gain settings should match your head units output. Normally an amps lowest setting (knob turned fully counter clockwise) is at 4v. and the highest setting (knob turned fully clock wise) at 100 millivolts (0.1 v). So know find your h/e's output and go from there.

Message: Your gains should be set at the same position for both amps, given that they have the same input voltage. Since they are the same make they should be the same input voltage. What H/U do you have?
