Subject: panel vibration ELIMATED (99%) IP: Logged
Message: yeah,
i went to circuit city and bought more "tsunami silencer" sound-dampening/absorption stuff. then today, i took my whole door trim panel off- had to buy a door handle remover thingy so i could remove the window roller handle, slide the black thing around the door handle- and then took off the plastic stuff stuck to the door. i then proceeded to just put "dynamat"- i will call it dynamat to make it easier to explain, rather than "tsunami silencer stuff"..so anyways..i dynamatted the whole door- a whole bunch right around the 5.25" opening, stuck to the very outer part (the actual door exterior-but the interior side- hope that makes sense ), and just about everywhere. i did this on both sides, put the panel back on (with a little difficulty- and then i dynamatted the rear speakers- used a wrench to undo seat thingy at top, unscrewed back panel, and then dynammated the very back (the interior or the exterior). anyways, i used in total, 2+2+2+4= 10 square feet ($15+$15+$15$40(rip off- more than twice the cost of the 2-sq-ft package, but at the time, circuit city only had one 2-sq-ft package (15) and one 4-sq-ft package, so i bought both)..so anyways..
Now it sounds awesome. I can turn it up way loud and go outside, and it just sounds normal (no panel vibrating (of course, you can hear the music though), and overall i am very happy. i think when i finally install my 8" sub, 201s rf amp, and q-logic box (prolly next weekend), i might buy two more packages ($30), and "dynamat" the back panel, where i will vertically mount my amp (screw into back panel) and then have my sub box directly behind my seat. i think it will end up sounding very good.
later (sorry for long post, i like to explain things in great detail :)
