Subject: cap or no cap? IP: Logged
Message: ok i have a 2002 quad cab 4.7 with power everything. i added neons and a 450 watt sub amp and about 150 watt amp for the mids and highs. now when the truck is on and idling the head lights dim when the bass hits. as well as the neons, the dash lights, and the head unit lights. so i think i need a cap.
i'm selling this truck in a year or two so i'm not getting another alternater. i'm running the stock battery and it works fine .
if i need a cap i read it should be neer the amp which is under the driver's seat. so could i put a cap under the center seat? and how big of a cap would i need? it would only be for the 450 watt sub amp.
thanks for any help.

Message: I run a 1 farad cap to my 900 watt sterio and i experience no dimming. I had realativly bad dimming when i was running my old system, wich was only one sub with 250 watts. I use the digital stinger cap, which was less than 100 dallars.

Message: ok well i'm going to replace the ground wires from battery to body, battery to engine, and engine to frame with 4 gauge. that's a good price per foot for 4 guage? i was quoted $2/ft but that seems high.

Message: 2$ a foot is a little high for 4 gauge. i paid 2 dollars a foot for my 0/1 awg so...
i would not pay more then a 1$ per foot. ive seen it as low as 65 cents per foot i think... that is not a bad deal...
keep looking around to try to find the best.
I take it you got my email right?
