Message: their amps are pretty good for the money. i have a bolt 150 that i used to power my 2 12" bolt subs, i've upgraded since. it was pretty good for the money imo and you could certainly do a lot worse *coughSONYcough* lightning audio is a owned by rockford fosgate i believe so their quality is not bad. o by the way 900w amp for $160 is kind of a lie...it can peak at 900 but its rms is a llot lower then that...

Message: The Rockford Fosgate 301S is rated at 900W peak, real world numbers are 300W RMS, same as the Lightening Audio 900W peak amp (300W RMS) at W-M.
Lightening Audio 900W peak amp at W-M $160
RF 301S amp on Ebay $100-$120
W-M doesn't have quality audio equipment, decks, speakers, amps, all cheap stuff, not inexpensive, cheap. W-M's high end decks and speakers are the low end stuff at Best Buy or Circuit City, and BB or CC don't carry real high end audio equipment either. Only thing good about getting it at W-M is you could smoke 3 of them and still exchange or get your money back.
I did get my amp wiring kit and stereo adapter from WW, good price for the quality of kit. About $50 for 2 - 300W amp kits, speaker wire and a stereo adapter harness.

Message: If you need a good warranty, buy the stuff at the local shop, Bst By. Crct Cty or WM, if not, get it on Ebay for almost 1/2 retail. The only down side to Ebay is the warranty's are non-existient or difficult to deal with.
Sub xxx retail $120
tax $10
extended warranty $15
total $145
Sub xxx Ebay $60
Shipping $20
total $80
I look it at this way. I can get things cheaper on Ebay and if it goes bad I can buy the replacement and still be close to what I would have spent retail. Get 10 items for your stereo and what are the chances that everything is going to go bad, maybe 1 or 2 things, but your still saving a bundle over retail.
Well that's unless you hook up everything bassackwards and blow everything up.

Message: go to a audio shop and listen to some stuff for yourself...i personaly wouldn't go buy subs and stuff without hearin them some where first because you may be disapointed when you do buy them and their not really want you were hoping they would be....also the "u get what you pay for" is a big thing in car audio...thats why legacy is cheap, its garbage

Message: As for the lightning audio part of this forum.. i would stay away from them, just cause they are cheap and you get wat you pay for.. pay for good stuff the first time, it will hold its value.
For the Ma subs.. never heard them, i would consider there stuff midrange maybe...? they will make a boom boom sound if that is wat you are looking for.. going to an audio shop to listen might be a little hard cause it is going to sound totaly diff in your car and it all depends on the box that you are going to have it in (ported sealed) and so on .i have heard that there amps are overrated though, at least there high end ones...
for audiobahns alot of people talk trash about audioabhn... i have 4 aw120q's for a while... before they hit the mainstream.. for the money they are not that bad... the only ones i would suggest would be the aw1200q,aw1000q you can get them for about 100 shiped on ebay. also the alum series arent too too bad but... i like to have subs that are off mainstream like elemental designs. resonant enginering.. Id's and some others...
well thats my imput for now.. and again you get wat you pay for... if anything wait antoher month save 100 bills and get some better stuff.. its not that hard...

Message: From what I have seen and heard, Lightning Audio overall is good quality. Of course what you see at Wal-Mart is the entry level line and not their best stuff, and every manufacturer has one, even JL.

Message: If your that tight on money, dont get 2 12's. Its a truck, ONE good 12" sub will be plenty and will sound a helluvalot better than 2 crappy 12's.
I would stay away from Lightning Audio subs, but the amps are pretty decent for the price...no they arent topline and the best, but decent and at a price that you could replace if need be.
Also, most of the wiring components are fine at wal*mart, and much cheaper.. or you could always just go to Home Depot or Lowe's and buy all the wire you need by the foot for less than $20..and yes its about the same wire as the rockford crap, just without the flashy clear covers.
Unless your doing competition stuff, it is more than you'll need, dont let anyone tell you otherwise.
Ebay is a great place to buy components..and you dont need a warranty if you know what your doing with car audio, the stuff wont break, unless you did it.
