Message: MA Audio? I have heard the name, but don't know if it's quality or crap. Best bang for the buck?? I think the Hyundai Elantra is rated as the best bang for the buck. $8000 Hyundai will get you down the road, but not a comfortably or a quickly as a $20,000 Dodge, Ford or Chevy. Same with stereo equipment, you can get something that will make loud noise or something that will make loud music.
For the money your looking at spending you can pick up some quality equipment on Ebay, but you won't be able to do it locally. The only thing your going to get locally for your price range is over priced cheap equipment. You can get a sweet amp on Ebay for $100-200 and good 12" subs for $50-75. Stick to name brands. Rockford, Orion, Soundstream and Hifonics are some of the good ones that I have seen available on Ebay.
Buy good equipment and you will have it for years, buy cheap stuff and you will be replacing it in a few of years. I bought a RF Punch 150 amp in 1984, still have it and it still pounds. Yeah, a 20 year old amp that still works great. 10 year old Soundstream amp, still works great. 6 year old RF subs, still work great.

Message: Sony = low quality, well now they do. Several years back they had decient stuff but you can get better for the same price.
Audiobahn, I don't know. Someone else might know about Audiobahn and if they are low end, mid range or top end and how the compare for price and quality. The amp cooling fan "seems" like a good idea, but I have seen a lot of these small fans go bad in PC's and servers. It would realy suck if the amp cooked itself because the fan locked up or was turning slow.
There's probably other good Mgf's that I didn't mention, just listed the ones I know are good and have had experience with.
