Message: Alright, I gota 94' Dodge Dakote Extended cab. I want a better system. I've got an MTX 6000 sub (10 inch) running off a 200 watt poineer amp or something like that. Well I have two kicker comp VR's and I'm buying a 600 watt amp from my friend. I need help, I want to put the subs under the seat, but there's no room. What do I do? Do I lift the seats, if so how? I'm only 17 so your opinion would help me out alot, thanx guys

Message: I agree with 93bluev6, build a custom box for under the rear seats. If you put a sub, just the sub, under the seat does it fit? You might have to raise the seat, mine is higher in the front 1", back is on the stock brackets
Look at my post "Fiberglass CC Sub Box Pics". These boxes are in an 00 Dak, but you could do something like this for your 94. With the tool tray removed, my RF XLC 10's fit under the seats with a couple of inches to spare. Just build a sub box frame, fiberglass the bottom and put the top on, one custom sub box done! You need to put on 6-8 layers of glass and resin to get the bottom rigid, but it will do the trick.
Do a search here and on the net for stuff like glass bottom sub box and you can see how to do it. I even saw a couple of ppl with Dak glass sub boxes shown.

Message: i am in the same situation. i just ordered 2 kicker comp vr 10s and i am putting them under the back seat. i already built the frame and fiberglassed the bottom, all that i have to do left on the box itself is put a sheet of mdf on the top and cut the holes. the subs will fit even if you do not lift the seat. when i built the frame i did just what DSW did. i made it the same height in the back but i raised it about 2 inches in the front. i had a problem with the glassing but i didnt know what i was doing, i got it right on my second attempt. DSW helped me out alot throughout this project. my amp is going to be under the drivers seat. oh yea, i am also 17 years old. i ended up with .93 cu ft of air space and that is enough for the kickers. this is a cool project if your willing to do the work. its not that hard. i am taking pictures and if i can figure out how i will post them on here. keep me informed on if you deside to build the box.
