Subject: Taking out the interior IP: Logged
Message: I recently purchased some sound proofing material for my Dakota (dynamat)[hopefully will be able to hear my music better!] they recomend taking out the interior and putting this stuff down under the floor, in the doors et.. has anyone ever done anything like this? How much time am I looking at to complete this job? Is it hard to take out and replace the interior? any advice would be greatly appreciated!
thanks

Message: taking out teh interior is a big job, you can expect it to take the whole day. but in the long run its worth it. I have a 88 dakota regular cab and recently dynamatted the whole thing. I gained about 3db after i was done plus the overall sound was more of a full realistic sound, i'd say its worth teh time.

Message: I've got a 96 Dakota, and I matted the whole interior in 5 hours. With all the tools layed out and knowing the order things come out and go in is very helpful... Very worth your time if you want excellent sound! "QuickRacing"

Message: The stuff work!
Number one tip use a hair dryer on the dynamat to make it fit in tight places. Dynamat turns limp once you apply heat.
And don't ****up your dashboard by pulling the chairs out too quickly. Learned this lesson the hard way. Other than that it's a one man job.
If you don't get it done in one day just throw the driver seat back in and your ready to roll.
