Hey there
I'm sorry but my Dak is a reg. cab and I just put mine behind the drivers seat. My unit is oem and not FM mod. so I only had to run one cable from the head unit back behind my seats. I did not have to run an antenna connection to the unit.

good morning gentlemen....i am reading your posts with great interest as i am attempting the same thing ( install compatible cd changer) but with a few variables.my husband recently began using a company truck which left me the 94 dodge dakota slt 2dr extend cab. it has an infinity system that is am/fm cassette and sounds great.we have the original owners manual to this truck..and any reference to the audio system says refer to that manual which we do not have. crutchfeilds has a tool for determining compatability for add-on changers, but says my system will only accept generic or universal ones. i also frequent ebay...and have found several of the units suggested by crutchfeilds'. since the old man is not into this stuff i'm goin' in alone and it can be very confusing. any advice on past experience with different changers...built-in fm modulators or not,etc...would be greatly appreciated. thank you for your time...

Hi Larry,

Thanks for all of the info. I knew that I needed the changer with the round connector. I looked at the two ebay auctions that you listed and it appears that I am on the right track. The second one that you said is the same as what you used with your head unit is the same one that I have been trying to get. As a matter of fact, I was watching this very same auction before it ended. I would have bid on it, but the seller never responded to a question about it. I won't buy from not responsive sellers because if they are that hard to deal with before the sale then it is likely they will be the same afterwards. I am glad to know that I am looking for the right changer now. Do the cable and the cartridge have part numbers on them also. The reason that I ask is because I see the changers sometimes without the cable and cartridge. If I end up getting one of them I would want to be able to find the correct ones to go with it.As far as your upgraded speakers, for now I am happy with the factory ones. I may change my mind later of course.

I will keep watching ebay until I do get a changer. I would like one right now but I can wait.

Kenith

I dont have a dodge dakota myself, but I do have the Mopar 6 disc CD Changer, Part No P04882420. I've been wanting a cd changer for my 98 Plymoth Neon. Anyone know if it would work in a neon or will it just work in a dodge dakota? If it will only work in a dakota, what would someone offer me for it? Let me know.

Dave
