 Subject: xtant 2.2 amp price?

I went to my local car audio store and they told me the best amp for the mtx thunderform w/ the mtx 6000's is the xtant 2.2 and it would run me 300$
- Later that night I went to ebay and looked the amp up and its buy it now from a dealer brand new for ....139.99$
-Is my local store charging me too much?

MSRP on that amp is $399 and the manufacturer charges dealers at least $200 for it, so if you bought it for under $200 you did not buy new, A-stock product. What you got is either used, or grey market B-stock that was traded back into the US.

YES
$300 retail and $140 Ebay isn't too unbeleivable. I purchased all my stereo equipment from Ebay or etronics.com and spent about $600-700, if I would have bought the same equipment locally I would have spent at least twice that much. The problem with buying from Ebay and other Esellers is questionable warranties. If the equipment has problems, you will have to send it to the MFG for repairs,,, if it was purchased from an "authorized dealer".
I look at it this way, I bought 6 peices of equipment for $600-700. Even if one dies and they MFG won't honor the warranty I am still money ahead spending $100 to replace the dead part.
