Subject: How Do You Bypass The Infinity Amp? IP: Logged
Message: I've recently installed a new Pioneer DEH-P77DH CD Player and four new Pioneer TS-D170R 6.5" speakers. The system sounds great except for at higher volumes, it distorts slightly. I asked a local car audio expert and he informed to me that it was probably caused by the infinity amp that the reciever was running power too. I was dumbfounded as I thought the amp was built into the factory head unit which I replaced. Does anyone know where I could find the Infinity amp in my pickup and how to go about bypassing it? ANY help would be greatly appreciated.

Message: The stock amps on a stock Infiniti system should have been located on the speakers themselves. My '01 has them piggy-backed on the magnet of the rears. The amp may be located under the glove box with a factory plug in/out. It is kinda inside the side kick pannel. Good luck. If that doesn't work, you may just have to run some new wires thru your doors/floors to the speakers. It takes a while to do, but if you use quality wire, it is worth the effort.
