Subject: almost ready to buy! IP: Logged
Message: Hi guys. I can't wait to buy my system. What do you think of my choices and the prices. MB quart Premium components in the front and premium coaxial for rear fill. Now the part I'm not so sure about is the sub? There's a great price on the MTX two 10" subs but I don't know if I'd like the "long excursion" of them. The other one's I'm interested in are two 10" rockford fosgate. Are they a 'cleaner' low than the MTX's? I haven't bought anything yet but I've made up my mind on the speakers. Heard 'em, love 'em, will buy them sssoooo...it's the sub I'm still unsure of..Any suggestions or experience with these two subs would be appreciated. Thanks

Message: I have 2-RF XLC 10's in my 00 CC Dak and they sound great. They are in .70 cu ft enclosures, which is at thier low side for air volume, but they still sound awsome.
I had these in my old car so they are about 5 years old. In the other car they were in .8 cu ft enclosures which was the optimal air space for the subs, but in the Dak I was very limited for space and cut down the air volume. I can tell they are in smaller enclosures, but not by mutch. I would rather sacrifice a little sound for the added space. Could have easliy made the enclosures .8 cu ft but wouldn't have been able to keep the jack, jumper cables, oil, etc, etc, between the sub boxes and below the rear seats.
Go for the RF's you'll be happy with the choice

Message: yeah go with the RF's. Before i brought my 2 solo-baric 10's, i had 2 punch HC 12's. Boy did they sound good, i had them in a chevrolet truck box, but i think they would have fit easily in my dak.

Message: Thanks guys, ...but....the price on the MTX thunderform loaded with the 2 mtx subs was just too good. I ordered them online and now I'm anxiously waiting. I forgot how awful a stock radio is and I miss my XM satellite! Now, the next purchase I think will be the MB quart premium's for the front and hopefully not more than one more week's commute listening to (yikes!) stock radio and all that babbling!

Message: Yeah, the MTX Thunderforms are great. I read in one of these forums about a place to get them at the best price. www.FrankfortElectronics.com, I got mine for $249(Loaded).
It kicks ass.
