Subject: Replacing the stock head unit
IP: Logged

Message:
I have a 02 with the Infinity sound system. I just purchased
a Pioneer Premiere DEH550 which I am going to be
instaling. The only problem is that I know that there is a
stock amp with the current setup, but I think that this is a
bad thing now that the head unit I am installing probally
puts out more watts. Is it possible to use the exsisting
wiring to the current speakers but also bypass the amp? I
am replacing the factory stereo because I have installed a
MTX thunderform ( I have the club cab ) and will be
installing a Lanzar Amp to power the MTX subs.

Thanks for any replys.

I too have a thunderform and am very happy with it. I had a JVC MP3 player installed. Problem is that after installation my air bag light comes on. They unplugged an air bag plug when removing the dash. Could that be why. Anyway we cannot get the light to go out. Any suggestions as to why it did this and how do we get it to go off? IF anyone can help me with this please e mail me at hardball@adelphia.net

Start by disconnecting the negative side of your battery. Then just reconnect the airbag its not hard to find behind the dash. Then plug up the battery again. This will keep you from discharging your airbag and will allow your computer to reset the error code causing your airbag light to come on.
