Message: my god, so i am to the vary last step and..... i don't have the tool to disconnect the neg cable and the pos cable, i need to disconnect the neg cable cause i was always told to do that. and the pos cable so i could attech my amp power cable, am i right to say just take the little nut off and put the power ring on the screw and replace the nut? also, should i be worried about the length of my cable? its twenty feet long and i ran it through the firewall and around the edge of the truck all the way around and comming around the battery and finally around to the pos cable term. should i cut the cable to just what i need or is this ok. also, tool what kind of tool do i need, i got a big ol rech but its to big for that little screw, and i was out there for like 30 mins and just was about done, cause this is all i need to do, but now. stopped, cause don't got the tool. oh, and what about the remote? do i connect to the wire that says att or p comp, on my hu? thanks and if some one could respond to this asap i'd appreciate it. thanks

Message: I put the positive cable ring on the nut on the battery terminal, and it works great. In regards to the length of the positive cable, I don't think it matters, only with the ground wire. Just make sure it isn't going to get caught on anything. You can use pliers to remove the nut, or borrow a small wrench from someone. As for the remote wire, someone else is going to have to chime in as I put my stereo in last year and have since forgotten. Hope that helps, and someone correct me if I'm wrong on this stuff.

Message: Heh...this is the second time I'm writing this because I put an "invalid E-mail Address in" so heres the short and sweet version :).
Make sure you have an inline fuse around 18" from the battery.
Make sure you have wire-tied the cable securely under the hood.(preferably cover in wire loom for astetics)
As for the remote:
I'm making an educated guess here becuase I've never seen "P comp" before.
First make sure both wires are blue or blue with a white stripe.
Second: If one is not chances are it's not it.
Third: Use the P-comp wire.(if it's blue)
Forth: If you have to use the Att wire make sure it is fused. It is for a power antenna and has much more than the needed 300mA for amp turn-on.
To be positive of the wire...use a multi-meter to the output of the wires when the Head-unit is on.....The wire should show 12v @ 300mA. then use the power button on the radio and turn on the lights of the truck. The wire should show 0 Volts.
I hope this helps ya
