purchased 3 8" inch Rockford Fosgate HX2 subs and they carry 800 watts max a piece. What size amp do i need to give them sufficient power and do i need a 4 channel?

need to give a little more info. Do you have a single or dual voice coil? If it is a dual then you will only be able to run about 130-400 watts a piece. A single voice coil would be considerably less.
