I have about 500 RMS going to one JL 10W6 and still have room for 5 people in my CC (Not the most comfortable, but I have done it before).

im a franchise..
i dont order corporate crap.. this is all special order sound system... visonik name was botten out by MA audio.. but its all visonik quality stuff.
i move products anywhere from class d amps to subs pushin over 2000 rms... i mean it aint nothing to snicker at.. i sell from a small town in sinton texas and manage to maint descent stature with comparrison to professional stuff...
runnin a 1400 watt bridged amp to a 1600 watt maxx 800 watts rms 3 tens box with a built in corss over and seperate 4 way cross over is something worth investin in.. im jsut like any other guy out htere that enjoys music!!

Message: i think im running somewhere along the line of 154 db... im not really for sure .. but its enough i gotta crack the windows before i crank it or your eyes shake from all the air pressure it moves... future mods are lookin towards a 2 farad capacitory .. XM pioneer radio.. atenna freq. booster...noise reducer ... dash mount tweeters...replacing the pioneers in the walls with sony's for better highs..and then last but not least running about a 200 watt pioneer 4 way amp to the sony's that will replace the current pioneers in the doors and back wall's
and prob...maybe just maybe.. i can get two 18 audioBahn's they are rated at 2000 watts rms each and 4000 watts maxx each and hookin up and other 1400 watt amp...then ill probably up grade to a 0 ga. wiring kit instead of my current 8 ga. and custonmized the back seat to go in-between the two 18's

Message: Theres no way you are hitting 154 db. You
must be using a radio shack db meter. Yes 3
tens are loud but not that loud. I had two
solobaric 15s in a custom enclosure link in
my truck driven by two Rockford power 500's
(1999 Models birth certificate said 748 watts) I
could hit 151 on a good day. And no the install,
box and wiring was not shotty, box was
computer designed and the wiring was all
street wires with a stinger 1 farad cap. It
sounds like you have a good system but dont
sounds presumptious and ruin your vredibility
by stating outrageous numbers. Also
remember that any amp can say it pushes
1400 watts, what matters is efficiency.
Pioneer, Sony all have low efficiency ratings.
Kicker and the older (1999 and older)
Rockford amps are hgher efficiency, often
producing more than thier rated wattage,
andstill most birth certificates for these amps
only rate them 58 - 70% efficient. Oh and
placing tweeters on the dash is a cardinal sin
in car audio, with highs the lower the better,
this is the reason Q-forms sell so well, higher
frequency "like" to travel and reflect, direct high
frequency exposure, (like mounting the
tweeters on the dash as to aim them at your
head) is the worst stereophonic move you can
make. Im not ragging on you or telling you that
I know more, bc car audio is a definite
learning process, Im just offering a
suggestion and giving advice from personal
experience. :)

Message: This is an example of what it takes to hit 154
db. Remember every 10 db and you double
your sound output, so even with my two
fifteens on a good day I was still about 75% as
loud as this guy. Remember also its not just
quantity of sound its quality(Cerwin Vega
Stroker subs) and overall setup, its not jsut
about who booms.

Message: Best I've seen is two 18's mounted behind the seats in a CC. Box took up the whole back of the cab to right below rear window. With stereo only 1/4 way up you couldn't stand to be inside the cab. Don't know what brand, or how many watts the guy was pushing, but it was LOUD.

Message: Yea, I'd say that the major factor in how loud subs are, is the box they are in. I cut throught my cab wall and have 2 fosgate power hx2 12's in ported boxes and tuned them to 35 hz. and I'll tell ya, when a 35 hz note hits... you can FEEL those things. I had to make a custom back seat cover for my 88 dodges' bench so it was a little more comfortable to ride in. I made 6 channels in the inside back of the seat cover and filled them with tubular sand bags. it just makes the seat denser and prevents it from shaking all over the place. beats any massage chair at brookstone thats for sure :) I cant wait till the summer so I can find out the SPL.

Message: HSKR: I think you saw mine, and no that was
a standard cab, I sold those Rockford 18's on
ebay a while ago. Ill try to dig up the pic to
post. Yeah they were damn loud(156-57 range
) 18's get really muddy though at lower
volumes. The SPL would have been louder
but our trucks dont provide the best SPL
sound stage as the air volume is quite small:
Not much air to move= Low pressure. I was
powering them with two Rockfor power
500a2's (one to each). I think the best
sounding system ive had was the two solo
15's complimented by the kicker component
set.. very nice crisp sound. Now im going
quality over quantity and going for a little more
mid bass and highs. oh, what age will do to
you(Im 20) lol. Still working on the next
system. Keep up the good work guys.
