Message: Since i'm getting no help finding a box to fit my '01 RC, I've decided to make my own. Figure I'll do a cardboard mock up to make sure dimensions are right before making the final product. Are there any suggestions on material to use, especially thickness. I know MDF works best due to it's consistant density. The problem is that it's only offered in a fairly thick width (3/4 i think). Particle board is available in a much larger range of thicknesses. Which of the two is best and what is the ideal thickness for a sealed box? Again remember space is tight, so thicker material means less air space.

Where are you looking? Around here, Home Depot offers it in 3/8", 1/2", 5/8", 3/4", and 1". in my opinion MDF is hands down the best, but particle board is fine for thicknesses over 3/4".
