Does anyone have any problems with Panasonic head units? I found a Panasonic CQ-DFX701U head unit and I was wondering if anyone had any input about this brand or head unit. Thanks.

that head unit is actually discontinued...but no there really aren't any problems with panasonic that I know of...it's a good "average" quality company...it's all personal preference when it comes to head units...such as what options or features you want it to have...what it looks like...how user friendly it is...if you like it then I say go for it!

Hey there,
I have the Panasonic MXE CQ-DFX983U Head unit.
This is panasonic's nicest NON touch-screen unit avaliable. When I was searching for a cd player I had one hell of a time. I couldn't deside between the Panasonic or alpine units.
I know that most people think that the Aplines are much nicer units, but I would have to disagree(please don't kill me).
The main resons for getting a panasonic are:
-The stereo look 10X better than anyother unit HANDS DOWN.
-The layout is smooth and the button placment makes sence.
-It plays MP3's WMA's and standard cd/cdrw/cdr's.
-It has a fold down detachable faceplate.
-It has Aux in
-It has pre sub outs and preouts for front/rear left/rights (4 outs).
-the preouts are 4(??? maby more) volts.
-To me the sound was much clearer than the alpine (sorry it was to my ears).
-And finaly for what I found, it has the most fetures per doller than any other head unit.
I had mine installed at car toys because they were having a sale, and it cost me $308.65 total.
Not a bad deal when it retails for $350.00 and the alpines are near $420.00.
I love my panasonic and I would not trade it for anyother standard cd player (but I realy want an In-dash DVD player).

Etronics.com has it for $245.00 if you want to install it yourself. I just did not want the hastle and to wait ;)

i have the 501 and the only problem . that i have is that the display doesn't work like it should.no other problems, the subs out(rca) on the radio is sweet.u can choose the volmune of the subs and the 80 hz. or 120 hz. that's so cool.

Hi, I have a new Panasonic CQ-DF903U CD head unit. It is in the box with remote and all paperwork. I think this is the top of the line Panasonic right now. I am selling it because i have the infinity system in my dak and want to retain the steering wheel controls. This has the moving display, detach face and everything else mentioned above. I even have the mounting kit for a dak and a smart cable wiring harness. I am looking to get 250.00 for it. Thought i would help out if you want. philjay08221974@aol.com

The above poster's ^^^ CD player is the smae as the one I mentioned but it DOES NOT COME WITH MP3 CAPABILITY!!!
As I stated before etronics.com has it for 245.00 + shipping. Best deal around (Sorry Phil).
Just wanted to make sure you knew that.
